Prosperity Exercise #3: Meditate for Money
by Suzann Kale
Sorry, didn't mean to be crass. I couldn't resist the urge to alliterate.
Meditation takes many forms, and serves many functions. You can meditate, as Deepak Chopra advises, to get closer to your Source. You can simply
sit quietly and focus on your breathing as a meditation technique to reduce stress.
You can also meditate to program your Inner Software. That's what this exercise is about.
Here are the steps:
1) Sit in a comfortable position, spine straight but not rigid. Mentally scan your body and release any tense spots into relaxation.
2) With the body quiet, our next step is to quiet the mind. You might start with a prayer of gratitude. Watching your breathing is a wonderful way to then calm the mind and get into a deeper state of relaxation. You simply close your eyes and observe yourself inhaling; then observe yourself exhaling. Note the physical sensations of breathing.
Some meditators, instead of watching the breath, light a candle and focus their vision on the flame. You let your vision become a little blurred as you watch. Just relax your face and it will happen. Observe the candle, watch the flame as it moves, let your mind rest deeply into the spiritual significance a candle might hold for you. (Not to be a downer, but don't use candles if there are cats or children around, and be sure to blow the thing out when you're done. Don't fall asleep with a candle sitting there, okay?)
