Prosperity Exercise #4: How to Attract Money

A Synopsis of Today's Popular Techniques

by Suzann Kale

Studying the manifestation techniques from many sources, I've compiled a simple technique to attract money. It's based on Edgar Cayce's principles, on work by Deepak Chopra, on A Course in Miracles, on the movie The Secret that was so popular for a time, on Creating Money by Sanaya Roman and Duane packer, and many other sources.

What they all say is similar. Here's how to attract abundance:

1. Need.

The laws of attraction don't work if they're taken frivolously. There must be a genuine and sincere need, such as extra income to help a cause, or money for a child's Christmas present. That's not to say it won't work if you feel you must have a Hummer or a face lift. But the results will be better if your need is for your mortgage, seed money to start a company, or your grandmother's medical expenses. All the sources I've read agree that the more love, gratitude, and compassion we have in our minds and hearts, the better the abundance techniques will work.

2. Desire.

Behind that need for extra money, must be the emotional component of desire. It adds fire, it provides extra energy.

3. Intent.

Clarity of intent is of the utmost importance. The clearer you are about your goals, the more likely you are to attract what's necessary to achieve them. If you're foggy about what you want, the Universe doesn't get the message as clearly from you.

4. Make a statement to yourself, either aloud or written.

Say it as often as feels comfortable for you, or keep the written intention on a note card on your bathroom mirror so you see it every morning. Read it aloud. Believe it. Let go of any guilt you might have for wanting or needing abundance, because in reality, although we don't see it in practice here on earth all the time, there is in fact plenty of everything to go around. If you receive a windfall, that's good for you and everyone around you. It does NOT mean that because you received money, someone else had to do without. There is enough for everyone.

5. Wait with confident expectation

for what you want. Know that it's on its way to you. If it takes too long, repeat the process, or go through the process in a meditative state. You may want to accelerate your manifesting by acting "as if" it's already here, dressing "as if" you're already the bank's vice president, speaking to yourself "as if" you've accomplished your goal.

Notes
The main cause of failure in this exercise, according to the vast sources I've read and tried, is fear. The whole process should be done smoothly, effortlessly, and with a low-keyed (rather than wild-eyed) knowledge that what you need will come to you.

So let go of wishing, hoping, and worrying. When the need or desire comes up again in your mind, remember that the solution is already on its way. Don't clog up the process with fear.

I've tried this successfully with many needs. One small need I had, because I live in a big city, is to always be able to find good parking spaces. Many people who practice these "laws of manifestation" start with parking spaces. It's gotten to the point where everyone knows that if I'm in the car with them, they have a much better chance of getting a parking space near their destination, and without driving around the block 200 times. It really, truly works.

In summary, then, here are the steps to attracting abundance:
1) You have a genuine need.
2) You add desire.
3) You have a clear intent.
4) You give voice to your intent.
5) You confidently expect the result.
6) As you wait, you let go of all thoughts that come as wishes, frustrations, and doubt.
7) It's always best to pray for the best outcome for everyone who may be involved.
8) A spiritual day-to-day lifestyle will add flow and energy to the process. What is a spiritual day-to-day lifestyle? It's simply a state of mind that is observant rather than judgemental, and a heart that is compassionate rather than selfish.
