Anything we do as individuals, from setting a peaceful tone on a potentially unruly post office line, to teaching young children how to negotiate instead of fight, to traveling the world as a translator for global peace negotiators, will totally contribute to world peace. There's nothing too small (or too large) to contribute to peace on our planet.

Jobs affecting world peace need not be limited to PhDs in Political Science and members of the DC elite. Here are some career ideas you can explore locally:

Translator. Communication - accurate communication - is if vital if people are ever going to get along.

Working in a law firm (as an attorney, a receptionist, or anything in between) that helps those in need; working in a law firm that supports green causes and / or animal rights.

If you've figured out how to make money blogging or selling newsletters, you can write about world peace, about human nature, about crowd psychology, about weapons history.

High tech training and experience in systems analysis can open just about any door you want. From non-profit organizations (that pay their base employees) to activist groups, everyone needs their computers running and their software personalized.
