Anything we do as individuals, from setting a peaceful tone on a potentially unruly post office line, to teaching young children how to negotiate instead of fight, to traveling the world as a translator for global peace negotiators, will totally contribute to world peace. There's nothing too small (or too large) to contribute to peace on our planet. We'll start with jobs close to home, and on page 2 we'll give you ideas for major career moves.
Jobs affecting world peace need not be limited to PhDs in Political Science and members of the DC elite. Here are some career ideas you can explore locally: Translator. If you've figured out how to make money blogging or selling newsletters, you can write about world peace, about human nature, about crowd psychology, about weapons history. High tech training and experience in systems analysis can open just about any door you want. From non-profit organizations (that pay their base employees) to activist groups, everyone needs their computers running and their software personalized.
If you like drama, look for jobs in crisis management, or train for a job as a firefighter or peace officer of some sort.
