The Barefoot Solar EngineersWhat is power? Middle-aged women from remote, rural parts of the world, traveling to Tilonia, in India's state of Rajasthan, to learn engineering. That's power. These women spend 6 months at what they call the Barefoot College, and then they go back to their villages - and power up the homes using the sun. When I saw this video, and recognized the courage of the women and the people involved with The Barefoot College, I felt sooooo good. Hope and the power of women who work together for good - and benefit themselves personally at the same time - is a model that works. This video is proof. (continued below) |
